Coral Genus of the Family Faviidae.

Second only to Acroporidae in total number of species, the Faviidae family contains some of the most striking shapes and colors of all corals. Ranging from the flourescent flesh of the "trumpet coral" (Caulastrea Furcata), to the labyrinth patterns of the "maze coral" (Leptoria Phrygia), corals of this species are relatively tolerant to captive conditions and lighting variations. Most can be placed low in a well-lit reef aquarium, making them suitable specimens for compatibility with many of the more advanced species of SPS corals.

Coral Genus of the Family Faviidae include:

> Astreosmilia * > Australogyra > Barabattoia *
> Caulastrea > Cladocora * > Colpophyllia *
> Cyphastrea * > Diploastrea * > Diploria *
> Echinopora > Erythrastrea * > Favites
> Goniastrea > Leptastrea * > Leptoria
> Manicina * > Moseleya * > Oulastrea *
> Oulophyllia > Platygyra > Plesiastrea *
> Solenastrea *
