With common names including the 'Ejector Seat Coral'
and the 'Closed Brain Coral', corals of the genus Oulophyllia are often
grouped under a generic title of 'Favia'. However, these corals are known
to reproduce by ejecting small pieces of tissue, similar to polyp balls
found in the genus Goniopora.
Although somewhat uncommon to find for sale, these stony corals are tolerant
of captive care and make suitable additions to reef aquariums.
