The coral genus Seriatopora includes one of the most
easily identified of all SPS corals, the 'Bird's Nest Coral' (Seriatopora
Hystrix). Appropriately named for its intricately weaved narrow branches,
all corals of this genus are known for having particularly slender branches.
Colors include pink and green, with variations of yellow occasionally
found. Seriatoporas have been successfully propagated in captivity for
some time, making them a common find and often reasonably priced first
coral colony for those with strong reef aquarium lighting and high water
flow.
