When most people describe the shapes of corals in the coral reefs, they
are describing staghorn corals. Certainly the Acropora
Formosa is one of the most prevelant species in the reefs, where forests
of these corals provide hiding places for thousands of reef fish and other
creatures. Staghorns are popular corals for reef aquariums, as well. Currently,
a wide variety of colors and species are available and advancements in
reef tank care have made keeping these corals and having them thrive in
captivity easier than ever before.
