The torch coral is a very hearty addition to any reef aquarium. Known for its long, straight tentacles- the torch coral, when fully extended, can easily be mistaken for an anenome by the untrained eye. But, a branching conical coral skeleton is present beneath the fleshy polyps. This large polyped stony coral (LPS) is tolerant of a wide variety of reef tank conditions, and accepts metal halide as well as flourescent reef aquarium light sources. The torch coral is widely available to the reef aquarium hobby, and remains a favorite of hobbyists everwhere.
